Tip’s for a visit in the Etosha National Park:
Etosha is in the North of Namibia. It is round about 400 km up north from Windhoek Although the B1 road to reach Etosha is tarred, it's best to use a 4x4 vehicle since the gravel tracks inside the park can be tough. We used a rental Nissan Navara with a roof tent for the campsites across the country. We managed without problems, but there were some challenging hills and roads which is way more pleasant with a 4x4. You will not need one if you are planning on taking a shuttle to the campsite and booking a tour, which is also doable, find out more in our full Namibia guide coming soon. Which either way you decide to visit Etosha, the park is simply massive. So, plan enough time if you want to enjoy the full park. Be aware, that the animals are living a wild life. Therefore, there are no guarantuees, that you will see the animal you desire.Of course we have some more tips: Water! Carry plenty of water and stay hydrated, especially when you are travelling in the months with extreme temperatures. Burn baby burn! Pack sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses for protection from the sun. Capturing the moment! Binoculars and a camera with a telephoto lens can enhance your wildlife viewing experience. Protect wildlife! Stay within designated areas and follow park rules to ensure the safety of both visitors and wildlife.
